  • Antique Japanese Imari Arita Ware Porcelain Blue White Hand Painted Dishes
  • Beautiful set of five Japanese Arita blue and white porcelain dishes, each with scalloped rims and delicately hand-painted scrolling vine and floral motifs both inside and out. The bases bear apocryphal four-character Chenghua Nian Zhi (“Made during the Chenghua reign”) marks, an homage to Ming-dynasty prototypes. These refined examples date to the Meiji–Taisho period (circa 1880–1920) and reflect Japan’s interpretation of classical Chinese blue-and-white forms for export and domestic use. Fine glaze and cobalt tone consistent with high-quality Arita kiln work.
  • Excellent condition. Age related wear.
  • Bottom marked as shown.
  • Bowl is 1" tall and 3 1/4" wide.
