  • Frankart 1930s Art Deco Black Elephant Head Ash Tray With Removable Glass Insert Tray
  • Frankart Art Deco design of an Elephant's Head ashtray. It is in the Frankart Products Catalog 1932-1933 as product No. T382 / T-382 and is described in the catalog as: "Elephant head with removable glass ash receptacle in mouth. Elephant's trunk acts as convenient handle." The Frankart Elephant is marked on the back of one of the ears: "Frankart Inc. Pat. D89321". It is 7" tall and is 6 1/4" ear to ear. The finish and black glass ashtray insert are original. It was actually patented on Feb. 21st, 1933 by inventor Henry Underberg with Frankart as the original assignee.
