  • ohn Wooden (1910–2010), famously known as the “Wizard of Westwood,” was one of the most successful and influential coaches in the history of American sports. As head coach of the UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team from 1948–1975, Wooden built an unprecedented college basketball dynasty, leading UCLA to 10 NCAA national championships in a 12-year span, including a record seven consecutive titles from 1967–1973.Under Wooden, UCLA produced legendary players including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Walton and recorded four undefeated seasons. His teams also established an extraordinary 88-game winning streak, a Division I men’s basketball record that stood for decades. Wooden finished his UCLA coaching career with a 620–147 record and became renowned not only for winning but also for his teaching philosophy and celebrated “Pyramid of Success.”Wooden was an accomplished player before becoming a coach and was the first person inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2003 and remains one of the defining figures in college basketball history.

  • This Collection is offered with the personal guarantee of the consignor, Richard Andrews, who assembled it directly from the athletes over many years of collecting. Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the autographed items in this Collection were personally signed by the athlete in Mr. Andrews' presence. The remaining items were obtained from reputable auction sites.Mr. Andrews affirms that, to the best of his personal knowledge, no item in this Collection has been falsified, altered, re-signed, or misrepresented, and that the details provided for each item are accurate andbased on his own first-hand experience obtaining the autograph. Mr. Andrews began collecting baseball cards in the late 1950’s and continued into the early 1990’s. He befriended several promoters of sports card shows in the mid-1980’s, and this is how he came to know the athletes and obtain the majority of the autographs in his collection. In assisting with the aforementioned sports card shows, he was able to meet and spend personal time with many of his childhood baseball heroes, including Mickey Mantle, Don Drysdale, Whitey Ford, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, and many others.As added assurance, Crafted Auctions will accept the return of any item in this Collection if the buyer obtains a documented “not authentic” determination from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett within one hundredtwenty (120) days of purchase. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, accompanied by the authenticator's written determination, for a full refund of the purchase price. Additionally, by appointment, Mr. Andrews will make himself available to share with any buyer additional specific details of any item in the Collection that is being offered at auction.
