  • Johnny Bench Hand Signed Autographed Baseball
  • Johnny Bench (born 1947) was one of the greatest catchers in Major League Baseball history and a cornerstone of the Cincinnati Reds’ legendary “Big Red Machine” of the 1970s. Bench spent his entire 17-season Major League career with Cincinnati from 1967 through 1983, combining tremendous power with exceptional defensive ability behind the plate.A 14-time All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove winner, and two-time National League MVP, Bench revolutionized the catching position with his powerful throwing arm, durability, and ability to control a game defensively. He led the National League in home runs twice and RBIs three times, including a spectacular 1970 season when he hit 45 home runs with 148 RBIs and captured his first MVP Award.Bench helped Cincinnati win four National League pennants and consecutive World Series championships in 1975 and 1976. He was especially dominant in the 1976 World Series, batting .533 with two home runs and earning World Series MVP honors as the Reds swept the New York Yankees.Bench finished his career with 389 home runs, 2,048 hits, and 1,376 RBIs. The Reds retired his No. 5, and he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989 on his first ballot. His combination of power, defense, leadership, and championship success established Johnny Bench as one of baseball’s defining catchers.
