  • Luis Aparicio, Bobby Thompson, Joe Garagiola Hand Signed Autographed Baseballs
  • Luis Aparicio (1934–2025), nicknamed “Little Louie,” was a Venezuelan shortstop whose speed, defense, and baserunning helped redefine the position during his 18-season Major League career. Best known for his years with the Chicago White Sox, Aparicio was named American League Rookie of the Year in 1956 and became a key member of the 1959 “Go-Go Sox” team that won the American League pennant. A 13-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove winner, he led the American League in stolen bases for nine consecutive seasons from 1956–1964. Aparicio also played for the Baltimore Orioles, helping them win the 1966 World Series, and the Boston Red Sox before returning to Chicago to finish his career. He retired with 2,677 hits and 506 stolen bases. Aparicio was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984, becoming the first Venezuelan-born player to receive baseball’s highest honor.
  • Bobby Thomson (1923–2010), nicknamed the “Staten Island Scot,” was a three-time All-Star outfielder and third baseman best remembered for one of the most dramatic moments in baseball history. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Thomson spent the majority of his Major League career with the New York Giants and also played for the Milwaukee Braves, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, and Baltimore Orioles. His defining moment came on October 3, 1951, when he hit the legendary “Shot Heard ’Round the World,” a three-run, ninth-inning home run off Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Ralph Branca that won the National League pennant for the Giants. Thomson played 15 Major League seasons, finishing with 264 home runs, 1,026 RBIs, and 1,705 hits. His pennant-winning homer remains one of the most celebrated plays in American sports history.
  • Joe Garagiola (1926–2016) was a Major League catcher who later became one of the most recognizable and entertaining broadcasters in American sports. A native of St. Louis, Garagiola grew up across the street from fellow future Major Leaguer Yogi Berra and signed with his hometown St. Louis Cardinals. He reached the majors in 1946 and helped the Cardinals defeat the Boston Red Sox in that year’s World Series, batting .316 during the seven-game championship. Garagiola played nine Major League seasons with the Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, and New York Giants before retiring in 1954. He found even greater fame behind the microphone, becoming a longtime baseball broadcaster for NBC and later working with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Known for his humor, storytelling, and deep knowledge of the game, Garagiola received the Baseball Hall of Fame’s Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting excellence in 1991.

Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the autographed items in this Collection were personally signed by the athlete in Mr. Andrews' presence. The remaining items were obtained from reputable auction sites.Mr. Andrews affirms that, to the best of his personal knowledge, no item in this Collection has been falsified, altered, re-signed, or misrepresented, and that the details provided for each item are accurate andbased on his own first-hand experience obtaining the autograph. Mr. Andrews began collecting baseball cards in the late 1950’s and continued into the early 1990’s. He befriended several promoters of sports card shows in the mid-1980’s, and this is how he came to know the athletes and obtain the majority of the autographs in his collection. In assisting with the aforementioned sports card shows, he was able to meet and spend personal time with many of his childhood baseball heroes, including Mickey Mantle, Don Drysdale, Whitey Ford, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, and many others.As added assurance, Crafted Auctions will accept the return of any item in this Collection if the buyer obtains a documented “not authentic” determination from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett within one hundredtwenty (120) days of purchase. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, accompanied by the authenticator's written determination, for a full refund of the purchase price. Additionally, by appointment, Mr. Andrews will make himself available to share with any buyer additional specific details of any item in the Collection that is being offered at auction.
