Mickey Mantle (1931–1995), famously known as “The Mick,” was one of the most celebrated players in Major League Baseball history and the centerpiece of the New York Yankees during the 1950s and 1960s. A powerful switch-hitting center fielder, Mantle spent his entire 18-season Major League career with the Yankees from 1951 through 1968.
A 20-time All-Star and three-time American League MVP, Mantle possessed a rare combination of tremendous power and speed. His greatest season came in 1956, when he won the American League Triple Crown by batting .353 with 52 home runs and 130 RBIs, while also capturing his first MVP Award. He finished his career with 536 home runs, 2,415 hits, 1,509 RBIs, and a .298 batting average.
Mantle was a central figure in one of baseball’s greatest dynasties, helping the Yankees capture seven World Series championships and 12 American League pennants. He hit 18 career World Series home runs, a Major League record that still stands, and appeared in 65 World Series games. In 1961, Mantle and teammate Roger Maris captivated baseball fans with their season-long pursuit of Babe Ruth’s single-season home run record.
Despite battling numerous injuries throughout his career, Mantle remained one of baseball’s most feared hitters. The Yankees retired his legendary No. 7, and he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974 on his first ballot. His combination of switch-hitting power, championship success, and iconic status made Mantle one of the defining stars of baseball’s golden era.

Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the autographed items in this Collection were personally signed by the athlete in Mr. Andrews' presence. The remaining items were obtained from reputable auction sites.Mr. Andrews affirms that, to the best of his personal knowledge, no item in this Collection has been falsified, altered, re-signed, or misrepresented, and that the details provided for each item are accurate andbased on his own first-hand experience obtaining the autograph. Mr. Andrews began collecting baseball cards in the late 1950’s and continued into the early 1990’s. He befriended several promoters of sports card shows in the mid-1980’s, and this is how he came to know the athletes and obtain the majority of the autographs in his collection. In assisting with the aforementioned sports card shows, he was able to meet and spend personal time with many of his childhood baseball heroes, including Mickey Mantle, Don Drysdale, Whitey Ford, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, and many others.As added assurance, Crafted Auctions will accept the return of any item in this Collection if the buyer obtains a documented “not authentic†determination from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett within one hundredtwenty (120) days of purchase. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, accompanied by the authenticator's written determination, for a full refund of the purchase price. Additionally, by appointment, Mr. Andrews will make himself available to share with any buyer additional specific details of any item in the Collection that is being offered at auction.
