  • Roger Maris Hand Signed Autographed Photograph & High Grade Topps Baseball Cards Framed
  • Roger Maris (1934–1985) was one of Major League Baseball’s most celebrated power hitters, best remembered for his historic years with the New York Yankees. Playing alongside Mickey Mantle during the Yankees dynasty of the early 1960s, Maris became the center of national attention during one of baseball’s most famous home-run races.Maris earned consecutive American League MVP Awards in 1960 and 1961, but his defining achievement came in 1961. After pursuing Babe Ruth’s longstanding single-season record throughout the summer, Maris hit his 61st home run on October 1, 1961, surpassing Ruth’s mark of 60 established in 1927. Maris’ American League record stood for 61 years, until Aaron Judge hit 62 in 2022.A seven-time All-Star selection and Gold Glove-winning outfielder, Maris played 12 Major League seasons with the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Athletics, Yankees, and St. Louis Cardinals. He appeared in seven World Series and won three championships, two with New York and one with St. Louis, finishing his career with 275 home runs and 850 RBIs.The Yankees retired Maris’ No. 9 in 1984, honoring his place in franchise history. Although his career was shortened by injuries, his dramatic pursuit and breaking of baseball’s most famous home-run record made Roger Maris one of the enduring figures of the sport’s golden era.
