  • Telechron Model 4F65 "Luxor" 1930s Art Deco Mirrored Edge Electric Mantel Clock
  • A supremely stylish artifact of the American Art Deco moment, this Telechron "Luxor" electric mantel clock distills the period's design ambitions into a compact and beautifully resolved object. The General Electric-affiliated Telechron Company, whose synchronous electric movements set the standard for domestic timekeeping in the interwar decades, produced in the Luxor one of its most architecturally distinguished case designs. The clock presents as a bold circular form — its outer ring finished in mirrored glass that captures and multiplies light with considerable effect — set upon a low, chrome-footed plinth of horizontal emphasis, the whole composition conveying the streamlined confidence of the machine age at its most optimistic. The dial, framed by a subtly engine-turned silvered chapter ring, carries bold Roman numerals in the period's favored graphic manner, the red-tipped seconds hand providing a single vivid accent against the restrained silvered ground.
  • Excellent condition. Age related wear. When plugged in the power is running and seconds hand move on its own.
  • Clock is 6 1/4" tall and 7 1/2" wide.
