  • Whitey Ford (1928–2020), Pee Wee Reese (1918–1999), and Rollie Fingers (born 1946) were three Hall of Fame stars whose careers span several of Major League Baseball’s most celebrated eras. Ford, nicknamed “The Chairman of the Board,” spent his entire 16-season career with the New York Yankees and became one of the greatest pitchers in franchise history, compiling a 236–106 record and .690 winning percentage. A six-time World Series champion and 1961 Cy Young Award winner, Ford still holds the record for 33? consecutive scoreless innings in World Series play.Reese was the longtime shortstop and captain of the Brooklyn Dodgers, earning 10 All-Star selections and helping the franchise capture seven National League pennants and its historic 1955 World Series championship. He is also remembered for his leadership and public support of teammate Jackie Robinson during the integration of Major League Baseball. Fingers, instantly recognizable by his handlebar mustache, became one of baseball’s pioneering relief-pitching stars. He helped the Oakland Athletics win three consecutive World Series championships from 1972–1974, earned 1974 World Series MVP honors, and in 1981 became the first relief pitcher to win both the American League Cy Young and MVP Awards in the same season. All three were inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and remain closely associated with championship baseball and their respective franchises.

  • This Collection is offered with the personal guarantee of the consignor, Richard Andrews, who assembled it directly from the athletes over many years of collecting. Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the autographed items in this Collection were personally signed by the athlete in Mr. Andrews' presence. The remaining items were obtained from reputable auction sites.Mr. Andrews affirms that, to the best of his personal knowledge, no item in this Collection has been falsified, altered, re-signed, or misrepresented, and that the details provided for each item are accurate andbased on his own first-hand experience obtaining the autograph. Mr. Andrews began collecting baseball cards in the late 1950’s and continued into the early 1990’s. He befriended several promoters of sports card shows in the mid-1980’s, and this is how he came to know the athletes and obtain the majority of the autographs in his collection. In assisting with the aforementioned sports card shows, he was able to meet and spend personal time with many of his childhood baseball heroes, including Mickey Mantle, Don Drysdale, Whitey Ford, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, and many others.As added assurance, Crafted Auctions will accept the return of any item in this Collection if the buyer obtains a documented “not authentic” determination from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett within one hundredtwenty (120) days of purchase. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, accompanied by the authenticator's written determination, for a full refund of the purchase price. Additionally, by appointment, Mr. Andrews will make himself available to share with any buyer additional specific details of any item in the Collection that is being offered at auction.
