  • Joe Montana (born 1956), famously nicknamed “Joe Cool,” is regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. Montana spent the majority of his 16-season career with the San Francisco 49ers, where his poise, accuracy, and ability to perform under pressure made him the centerpiece of one of football’s great dynasties. He led San Francisco to four Super Bowl championships during the 1980s and earned Super Bowl MVP honors three times, becoming the first player to accomplish that feat.An eight-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time NFL MVP, Montana produced some of the most memorable drives in postseason history. His touchdown pass to Dwight Clark in the 1981 NFC Championship Game produced “The Catch,” while his late game-winning drive against Cincinnati in Super Bowl XXIII further established his reputation for clutch performances. Montana finished his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, leading them to the AFC Championship Game following the 1993 season. His No. 16 was retired by the 49ers, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000, cementing his legacy as one of professional football’s most celebrated quarterbacks.

  • This Collection is offered with the personal guarantee of the consignor, Richard Andrews, who assembled it directly from the athletes over many years of collecting. Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the autographed items in this Collection were personally signed by the athlete in Mr. Andrews' presence. The remaining items were obtained from reputable auction sites.Mr. Andrews affirms that, to the best of his personal knowledge, no item in this Collection has been falsified, altered, re-signed, or misrepresented, and that the details provided for each item are accurate andbased on his own first-hand experience obtaining the autograph. Mr. Andrews began collecting baseball cards in the late 1950’s and continued into the early 1990’s. He befriended several promoters of sports card shows in the mid-1980’s, and this is how he came to know the athletes and obtain the majority of the autographs in his collection. In assisting with the aforementioned sports card shows, he was able to meet and spend personal time with many of his childhood baseball heroes, including Mickey Mantle, Don Drysdale, Whitey Ford, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, and many others.As added assurance, Crafted Auctions will accept the return of any item in this Collection if the buyer obtains a documented “not authentic” determination from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett within one hundredtwenty (120) days of purchase. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, accompanied by the authenticator's written determination, for a full refund of the purchase price. Additionally, by appointment, Mr. Andrews will make himself available to share with any buyer additional specific details of any item in the Collection that is being offered at auction.
