  • Johnny Bench (born 1947) and Pete Rose (1941–2024) were cornerstone players of the Cincinnati Reds’ legendary “Big Red Machine” and two of the most recognizable baseball stars of their generation. Bench, widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in Major League history, spent his entire 17-season career with Cincinnati. A 14-time All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove winner, and two-time National League MVP, Bench combined exceptional defense with tremendous power, finishing with 389 home runs and 1,376 RBIs. He helped lead Cincinnati to consecutive World Series championships in 1975 and 1976 and earned World Series MVP honors in 1976.Rose, famously nicknamed “Charlie Hustle,” played 24 Major League seasons and became baseball’s all-time leader with 4,256 career hits. A 17-time All-Star, three-time batting champion, and 1973 National League MVP, Rose was renowned for his aggressive, hard-nosed style of play and extraordinary durability. He was a key member of Cincinnati’s 1975 and 1976 championship teams, earning World Series MVP honors in 1975. Together, Bench and Rose formed an essential part of a Reds dynasty that dominated National League baseball during the 1970s and remains one of the most celebrated teams in MLB history.

  • This Collection is offered with the personal guarantee of the consignor, Richard Andrews, who assembled it directly from the athletes over many years of collecting. Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the autographed items in this Collection were personally signed by the athlete in Mr. Andrews' presence. The remaining items were obtained from reputable auction sites.Mr. Andrews affirms that, to the best of his personal knowledge, no item in this Collection has been falsified, altered, re-signed, or misrepresented, and that the details provided for each item are accurate andbased on his own first-hand experience obtaining the autograph. Mr. Andrews began collecting baseball cards in the late 1950’s and continued into the early 1990’s. He befriended several promoters of sports card shows in the mid-1980’s, and this is how he came to know the athletes and obtain the majority of the autographs in his collection. In assisting with the aforementioned sports card shows, he was able to meet and spend personal time with many of his childhood baseball heroes, including Mickey Mantle, Don Drysdale, Whitey Ford, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, and many others.As added assurance, Crafted Auctions will accept the return of any item in this Collection if the buyer obtains a documented “not authentic” determination from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett within one hundredtwenty (120) days of purchase. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, accompanied by the authenticator's written determination, for a full refund of the purchase price. Additionally, by appointment, Mr. Andrews will make himself available to share with any buyer additional specific details of any item in the Collection that is being offered at auction.
