  • Red Schoendienst (1923–2018), Ozzie Smith (born 1954), and Lou Brock (1939–2020) were three legendary St. Louis Cardinals stars and members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Schoendienst was a 10-time All-Star second baseman who spent most of his 19-season playing career with St. Louis, helping the Cardinals win the 1946 World Series before later guiding the club to the 1967 World Series championship as manager. His long association with the Cardinals ultimately spanned more than six decades.Smith, famously nicknamed “The Wizard,” is regarded as one of the finest defensive shortstops in baseball history. A 15-time All-Star and 13-time Gold Glove winner, he dazzled Cardinals fans with spectacular defensive plays while helping St. Louis win the 1982 World Series and reach the World Series again in 1985 and 1987. His famous walk-off home run in the 1985 NLCS inspired the memorable call, “Go crazy, folks! Go crazy!”Brock was one of baseball’s greatest base stealers and leadoff hitters. After joining St. Louis in 1964, he helped the Cardinals capture World Series championships in 1964 and 1967. A six-time All-Star, Brock collected 3,023 hits and 938 stolen bases, retiring as Major League Baseball’s career stolen-base leader. Together, Schoendienst, Smith, and Brock represent three generations of Cardinals excellence, and all three had their uniform numbers retired by St. Louis.

Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the autographed items in this Collection were personally signed by the athlete in Mr. Andrews' presence. The remaining items were obtained from reputable auction sites.Mr. Andrews affirms that, to the best of his personal knowledge, no item in this Collection has been falsified, altered, re-signed, or misrepresented, and that the details provided for each item are accurate andbased on his own first-hand experience obtaining the autograph. Mr. Andrews began collecting baseball cards in the late 1950’s and continued into the early 1990’s. He befriended several promoters of sports card shows in the mid-1980’s, and this is how he came to know the athletes and obtain the majority of the autographs in his collection. In assisting with the aforementioned sports card shows, he was able to meet and spend personal time with many of his childhood baseball heroes, including Mickey Mantle, Don Drysdale, Whitey Ford, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, and many others.As added assurance, Crafted Auctions will accept the return of any item in this Collection if the buyer obtains a documented “not authentic” determination from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett within one hundredtwenty (120) days of purchase. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, accompanied by the authenticator's written determination, for a full refund of the purchase price. Additionally, by appointment, Mr. Andrews will make himself available to share with any buyer additional specific details of any item in the Collection that is being offered at auction.
