  • Sandy Koufax (1935–2025) was one of the most dominant pitchers in Major League Baseball history and a legendary figure of the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers. The left-hander spent his entire 12-season career with the Dodgers from 1955–1966, reaching extraordinary heights during his final five seasons. Koufax won three Cy Young Awards, the 1963 National League MVP Award, and five consecutive ERA titles while leading the league in strikeouts four times.Koufax threw four no-hitters, culminating in a perfect game against the Chicago Cubs in 1965. He was equally dominant in postseason competition, helping the Dodgers win four World Series championships and earning World Series MVP honors in 1963 and 1965. His decision not to pitch Game 1 of the 1965 World Series because it fell on Yom Kippur became one of the most famous moments involving faith and professional sports. Chronic arthritis forced Koufax to retire at just 30 years old, but he finished with 2,396 strikeouts, a 2.76 ERA, and 165 victories. In 1972, at age 36, he became the youngest player then inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of baseball’s greatest pitchers.

  • This Collection is offered with the personal guarantee of the consignor, Richard Andrews, who assembled it directly from the athletes over many years of collecting. Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the autographed items in this Collection were personally signed by the athlete in Mr. Andrews' presence. The remaining items were obtained from reputable auction sites.Mr. Andrews affirms that, to the best of his personal knowledge, no item in this Collection has been falsified, altered, re-signed, or misrepresented, and that the details provided for each item are accurate andbased on his own first-hand experience obtaining the autograph. Mr. Andrews began collecting baseball cards in the late 1950’s and continued into the early 1990’s. He befriended several promoters of sports card shows in the mid-1980’s, and this is how he came to know the athletes and obtain the majority of the autographs in his collection. In assisting with the aforementioned sports card shows, he was able to meet and spend personal time with many of his childhood baseball heroes, including Mickey Mantle, Don Drysdale, Whitey Ford, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, and many others.As added assurance, Crafted Auctions will accept the return of any item in this Collection if the buyer obtains a documented “not authentic” determination from PSA/DNA, JSA, or Beckett within one hundredtwenty (120) days of purchase. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, accompanied by the authenticator's written determination, for a full refund of the purchase price. Additionally, by appointment, Mr. Andrews will make himself available to share with any buyer additional specific details of any item in the Collection that is being offered at auction.
